As the CDT continues to expand real-world implementation and
solidify the technology and policy elements of the Digital ID
Framework we are focusing on the following projects for 2024:
-
Implementing the California Identity Gateway:
-
Continue to expand transit discount delivery
-
In partnership with Cal-ITP, the CDT will
continue to support implementation of the
existing transit discount system to new
transit agencies across California, such as
with Sac-RT.
-
Pursue additional MVPs
-
The CDT continues to engage with new state
agencies to identify opportunities to improve
verification processes for a wide array of
state services and benefits.
-
Onboard new IDPs and eligibility providers
-
The CDT’s current efforts are focused on
identifying new integrations that can provide
information about Californians’ income, such
as with Calfresh.
-
Developing Statewide Policy:
-
Finalize the Digital ID framework
-
The CDT is working to finalize the Digital ID
framework and its associated policies, and
will publish additional guidance for state
agencies in the coming year.
-
Engage with additional policy authorities
-
To enact the policies associated with the
Digital ID Framework the CDT is collaborating
with other statewide authorities such as the
California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA)
and the California Public Utilities Commission
(CPUC).
-
Developing Statewide Digital Credentials:
-
Establish a style guide and minimum standards
-
The CDT is working to develop guidance for
state agencies on the issuance and use of
digital credentials that will standardize and
improve the user experience for digital
state-issued passes, certificates, and
benefits.
-
Developing tools to make digital credential
issuance easier
-
CDT is developing tools that state agencies
can use to streamline and automate elements of
credential issuance to speed uptake.
